Alex and Mitchell's Texas Summer Wedding

There just aren't enough words to say how much we adored this couple!! Their vendors were great and photos AMAZING!! Here is a bit about the couple and their love story from the couple.

We met after Alex had just moved back to West Texas, and we were celebrating our mutual friend's birthday. After recovering from a less than elegant introduction on Mitchell’s part, we connected by being two Aggies, stranded out in the desert, with a love for A&M, dogs, and Shiner beer. Despite being with a big group, we found ourselves locked in conversation for a while; after which, we left very curious about the other. The next week, Mitchell called and asked her out like a true gentleman. Over the next couple of weeks we went on several dates, every chance we got to see one another, despite both our hectic travel plans.

Our story is simple, and straightforward - just two people who fell in love and didn't want to do life without each other. Our relationship has been so much more than just a whirlwind romance, but has become a deep-rooted friendship full of Jesus, deep belly laughs, countless roadtrips, copious amounts of food, being red wine and coffee snobs, and loving on our dogs as much as possible. Mitchell picked a ring in February 2016, and somehow managed to keep it a secret for 6 months. He proposed that July, in the most “Mitchell” way possible – well thought out, and romantic. He invited both our families, and several close friends to witness and celebrate at our favorite Italian restaurant, Venezia, in Midland.

The first time Alex had the realization that she was head-over-heels, in love with Mitchell was in Texas hill country, making it a special location for our wedding. Alex had always dreamed of getting married outside, under a wooden cross, with flowers in her hair since she was a kid. There was a desire for our venue to reflect our relationship – romantic, yet comfortable. We were drawn to the simple, elegant, beauty of Garden Grove. . Besides something picture-picture perfect, we wanted a space where our extensive guest list could come together, eat, drink, play games, catch up, engage in meaningful conversation, and still feel intimate and inclusive to every guest.

Bridal Fashion Week Trends: Spring 2018

Spring 2018 dresses are here and they are breathtaking! We wanted to pull together a few of our favorite trends for the year and share them with you. Don't forget we are just 2 weeks away from our Summer Engagement Event, where you can see some of these jaw dropping trends.

Dramatic Flair

This year black accents and embellishments did take center stage. Designers such as Marchesa, used this color to add drama to their necklines and bodices this season.

Sweet Bows

Bows made an appearance last year on the runway. Judging by the way Marchesa has brought them back, it is safe to say that they are not going anywhere any time soon.

Back to Black

I know what you are thinking....”Black? At a wedding?” Even though this has been a taboo for as long as time, it is starting to make its way into the light. I, for one, am thankful. I have seen black bridal gowns in the past but they resembled more something Queen Victoria would wear and less the dramatic elegance that designer Hayley Paige has brought to the table. The details and the edginess of these black wedding dresses are guaranteed to take away everyone’s breath.

Besides black and white, other colors hit the runway as well. Jim Hjelms Couture proved this to be true with detailed gowns featuring gray and seasmoke tones.

It’s all in the details, including sequins, fringe, and feathers. Of course sequins is a feature on gowns to an extent but throw in feathers and fringe and you have Naheem Khans’ Spring 2018 collection. It hits the nail on the head with this trend. The right combination of modern energy and style truly makes this collections true pieces of art.
